Technical Information

For Authors, how to prepare your manuscript

Please follow the information on our Proceedings page.

Online Publication of Papers

The transparencies of the talks in the plenary and the parallel sessions will be available on the web. Speakers are strongly encouraged to provide an electronic version of their talk at least in the pdf file format. Other usual formats (ps, ppt) are also welcome. Scanning of the transparencies will certainly delay the publication on the web.

It is recommended to bring a CD-ROM or to send us an email at with the location (URL) of the file for download.

Computer Facilities

In the Karman auditorium building computer rooms are reserved for the participants in order to access the internet and to read their e-mail. Two rooms will be equiped with PC's and in a third room private notebooks can be connected to an Ethernet network switch.

In addition there will be wireless access points installed in most areas of the Karman building, to support those participants who bring along their own WLAN cards and notebooks.

Printers can be accessed only in exceptional cases via the conference secretariate.

More detailed information will be announced later and can be found in your conference bag.

Instructions for posters

The poster has a size of 2m (height) x 1 meter (width). The poster walls will be prepared by the organizers and stay for the entire time of the conference.

Posters should be put up by the authors (tape is available at the conference desk).

Instructions for speakers

If you would like to use the beamer for your presentation, please submitt the electronics version of your talk BEFORE the session. The local organizers prefer the following way:

- send a short email (DEADLINE July 15th 19.00 MEST) to

using as a subject the session title

The mail contains:

Send the URL and the organizers will download your talk, collect all talks for a particular session on a conference laptop (OS: Windows XP), which has been tested to work with the beamer. If you are that well prepared, you just need to arrive in time for your presentation and everything will be prepared.

The deadline is july 15th (evening)! The prefered format is PDF, but ppt is also accepted. Please make sure, that special fonts you might use, are also included in the file. (Because the ppt files are very long, its much better to use the download option.)

Those who dont have access to web-space may send an e mail with the talk included in the appendix.

Speakers not being able to meet the deadline cannot be sure, to present their talk using a beamer. They should prepare tranparencies. In any case we strongly advice late speakers to bring their talk on CD-Rom or USB-memory stick.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Aachen.
